The
Rozdil State Mining and Chemical Plant (SMChP)"Sirka" |
Processing and utilization of phosphogypsum and flotation
wastes
In
the process of Rozdil State Mining and Chemical Plant "Sirka" operation
multi-tonne production wastes have accumulated , namely phosphogypsum and raw-ground
limestone. The volume amounts to 4 mln.t and 40 mln. t respectfully. Adverse effect
of the phosphogypsum dumps on the environment is manifested in air pollution,
underground and surface water pollution as well as soil and plant cover contamination
by harmful substances that are draining through the screen and are washed by rainfalls
and scattered by wind.
The main trends in the above wastes treatment and utilization
are:
- in agriculture as a chemical ameliorant with fertilizing properties
- to be used on acid and salt soils. Efficiency of such ameliorant was proved
by application practice. Need in the ameliorant is increasing from year to year
because of soils deterioration caused by low standard of farming;
- in manufacturing
construction materials - as binding and base materials for the products ( panels,
blocks and others);
- in road construction, a road base material;
- in
cement production , as regulator of concrete setting, mineralizing agent in the
process of cement clinker calcination;
- in chemical industry, for manufacturing
sulphuric acid and cement (or lime);
- in paper and paints making, as filler.
The main this case is the fact that phosphogypsum and flotation wastes are free
raw materials.
Waited deposit of investor - USD 1.0 mln. The Rozdil SMChP
"Sirka" can deposit into realization of the investment project USD 1.0
mln. Term of cover a cost is 3 years.
