Yavoriv: recreation zone based on a future lake
The
lake coastal line - 12.8 km
Lake surface area - 740 ha
Surface
area of the territory within the limits of the belt road -1022 ha

of beds in holiday hotels - up to 5 000 pers.
Number of holiday-makers
at the lake - up to 50 000 pers.
The aim
of the project is to restore the landscape , to transform the disturbed soils
into a recreation area with the Yavoriv lake as the center after flooding the
pit in 2006. The lake water area is 10 km2, the coastal line is 12 km long. It
is 45 km from Lviv , an international motor way passes by.
A national park
can be set up on restored lands including:
- recreation areas around the lake
(500 ha),
- hunting area on dumps connected by forest belts, (800) ha,
-
ornithological wildlife area "Cholgyny" (790 ha),
-"Shklo"
sanatorium with medical water "Naftusya",
- water basins for amateur
fishing and commercial fish-farming.
The
recreation area arrangements allow to render various kinds of services:
- sandy
beaches, rowing, sailing yachting, underwater sports, boating,
- spa treatment
services on the basis of sulphide hydrogen containing waters of different concentration
and temperature as well as the "Naftusya" medical water,
- amateur
fishing on lake shallows and on the ponds,
-excursions to the ornithological
area and observing rare species of birds through videodevices ,
- excursions
to the sacred water well and the church behind the village of Okilky,
-gathering
mushrooms and blackberries,
-hunting under special licenses with the aim to
control the size of wild animals.
It is possible to set up a museum of mining
equipment of the XX century. Diversity and exceptional land configuration offer
the challenge to create unique landscape and architectural complexes
