ABOUT US

Ivan ZozuliaOn June 2001 Institute for Mining and Chemical Industry was 45. It was founded by the order of USSR's Minister of Chemical Industry No 350 of 13.06.1956, as a subsidiary of the "Derzhgirchimproekt" institute (Moscow). Later on it became an independent organization "Lvivgirhimproekt". At that time prestarting works on the first line of Rozdil mining and chemical plant were going full swing. Podorozhne, Nemyriv and Yaziv sulphur deposits had been discovered. Considerable increase of potash raw materials production was planned in Kalush and Stebnyk
Scientific research for design works on sulphur was being carried out by the Central Scientific and Experimental Sulphur Laboratory located in the town of Novyy Rozdil. But differentiation of sulphur products range rendered it necessary to develop new production processes, to improve existing ones and consequently the question of formation a scientific and experimental institute came up. One more case for this was the fact that sulphur in the former Soviet Union was produced not only at the plants of Ministry of Chemical Industry but also by Mingasprom, Ministry of Non-ferrous Metals, and Minnaftochimprom Ministry of Ferrous Metallurgy and Minnaftoprom plants. The above stated plants manufactured sulphur in the process of hydrogen sulphide removal from natural gas and oil. Therefore the State Committee for Science and Technology together with the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the USSR decided on establishing of All-Union Scientific Research and Design Institute for Sulphur Industry (VNDPISirka) as of January 1, 1976 on the basis of the "Lvivgirchimproekt" Institute and the Central Scientific and Experimental Sulphur Laboratory with its headquarters in Lviv and subdivisions in the towns of Novyy Rozdil and Yavoriv.
Main buildingFrom January 3 1992 a new period in the institute's history began. It wasn't all-union any longer but only scientific research and design institute for sulphur industry. In July 1994 privatization of the Institute began which finished in September 7 1998 by the order No 1008 of the Lviv Regional Board of the State Property Fund.
When privatization was finished by resolution of the general meeting of shareholders of 30.03.99 PJSC" five subsidiaries were formed at the Institute.
Mining and chemical raw material section of Ukraine's Academy of Mining Sciences functions at the Institute. Institute is a founder of financial and industrial group "Tytan", corporaions, consorciums
